BillProof Mobile

Frequently asked questions

Helpful details about using BillProof Mobile, understanding its role, and finding support.

Getting started

What is BillProof Mobile?

BillProof Mobile, formerly MedBill AI, is a free consumer app that helps you review medical bills and related insurance documents for issues worth checking. Its analysis is informational and is not medical, legal, or financial advice.

Does BillProof Mobile cost anything?

Consumer analysis and self-help features in BillProof Mobile are free. The app does not offer a paid premium subscription. If you choose to engage an independent advocacy team, that separate team must agree any fee with you before work begins.

Can I scan or upload a bill on this website?

No. The website provides product information, App Store access, legal information, and support. Document upload and analysis are handled in BillProof Mobile, not through the website.

Can I use BillProof on a computer?

BillProof Mobile is intended for use on supported mobile devices. The public website can be viewed in a browser, but it does not provide desktop document intake or bill analysis.

What if I cannot access my account or the app is not working?

For account-access problems, bugs, crashes, or unexpected app behavior, email john@thorsendigital.com. Include a short description of the issue and the email associated with your account. Do not include documents or sensitive medical information unless requested through an appropriate support path.

Documents and results

What documents can I review?

You can submit medical bills, explanations of benefits (EOBs), and related insurance or provider documents that you are authorized to access and share. Documents can contain sensitive information, so review the Privacy Policy before submitting them.

How does the app analyze a bill?

With your versioned processing consent, BillProof Mobile uses configured Google Cloud Vision OCR and Gemini AI through Manus infrastructure to read documents and identify possible questions or discrepancies for you to review.

Are analysis results guaranteed to be correct?

No. AI and OCR can be incomplete or wrong. A flagged charge is not proof that it is improper, and a result does not guarantee a refund, bill reduction, insurance outcome, or other savings. Verify important findings with the provider, insurer, or a qualified professional.

Can BillProof prepare an appeal draft?

Self-help features may prepare materials such as an appeal draft when available. You remain responsible for reviewing it, adding the relevant facts, and deciding whether to use it. A draft does not provide legal representation or guarantee an outcome.

When does BillProof process my documents with AI?

The app requests account-scoped, versioned consent before a document picker, upload, or new OCR or AI processing request. This consent is separate from camera or photo-library permission.

Can I withdraw processing consent?

Yes. Use Profile and Settings to withdraw processing consent. This stops new OCR or AI requests and controlled queued work that has not started. It cannot retract data already sent to a provider and does not delete saved app results.

How long are bills and results kept?

Bills and results follow the retention period you select: 72 hours or 30 days. Documents linked to an active advocacy case may remain while that case is active. Provider storage and backups follow separate lifecycles.

How do I delete my bill history or account?

In BillProof Mobile, open Profile and Settings. Use the bill-history deletion control to remove saved bills and results, or the account-deletion control to remove the applicable app account records and file references. If you cannot access the app, email john@thorsendigital.com for help.

Optional advocacy and support

Can someone help me challenge a bill?

You may choose to request optional help from an assigned independent advocacy team. Sharing selected case information requires separate referral consent. Advocacy may not be available for every request and does not guarantee referral, representation, a successful challenge, or savings.

What happens if I share a case with an advocacy team?

After separate consent, selected case information such as a bill, analysis snapshot, referral reason, contact details, chosen evidence, and case messages may be shared. Unrelated bills are not included automatically. You can withdraw future sharing controlled by BillProof Mobile, but it cannot retrieve information the team has already received.

How do I get support?

Email john@thorsendigital.com for account, privacy, deletion, or general product support. For documents you want analyzed, use BillProof Mobile rather than sending them through the public website.
